Head to ‘Gods own country’ this summer with a staycation at our budget hotel in Leeds. With plenty to see and do for the whole family, our Leeds hotel is perfectly positioned to explore Leeds and Yorkshire without breaking the bank.
Have an action-packed day at Go Ape Temple Newsam. With three levels to choose from, this adventurous activity will suit everyone. Making your way through the many obstacles, from zip wires to aerial routes and more – it’s guaranteed fun! Make a day out of it with a walk around the woods or visit Temple Newsam House, farm and gardens. The farm is home to over 400 animals and occasionally they have exciting activities and demos such as butter making, bread and scone making and blacksmithing. With a play park and 1500 acres of parkland to explore, your little ones will definitely be tired out!
We are located a 3-minute drive from Woodlesford Train Station where you can jump on a train to Leeds City Centre for £2.70 per person, one way. Temple Green Park and Ride is a 10-minute drive away, day tickets are £3 and up to 3 children travel free with a fare-paying adult.
Once you hit the city you can shop ‘til you drop at Trinity Leeds, Victoria Gate and Corn Exchange or visit the some of the many museums including the Royal Armouries, Leeds City Museum, M&S Company Archive and The Tetley – once home to Tetley Brewery and is now a centre for contemporary arts.
For something different to do in the city then head to the library, where outside you’ll find giant games of chess to play, get involved in the Leeds Welcome Art Trail, which begins in the train station. If art won’t keep the little ones entertained, then the Owl Trail will. Head to Leeds Visitor Centre to pick up a map for £1 or download here and set off finding all 25 owls across Leeds.
If you have a train enthusiast on your hands, then Middleton Railway will provide a lot of fun. It’s the world’s oldest working railway and doubles as a museum showcasing an impressive collection of steam, diesel and elective locomotives, and you can even enjoy a ride on the train!
Head to Yorkshire Sculpture Park for a fun day out, where you can see around 80 sculptures and installations in the open air including work from Barbara Hepworth and Henry Moore. Your little ones will love letting their imagination go wild whilst roaming in the open space.
Stockeld Park is a much-loved school holiday treat that’s open for summer fun from 21st July right up until 3rd September. Some of your little ones much-loved characters will be making an appearance during the summer. The Enchanted Forest is nothing short of magical and your kids will be kept entertained by the many activities on offer including a playground, maze, laser zone, go-karts, roller rink and more - a fun family day out for all to enjoy!
Whether you’re looking to cool down or avoid the rain, then Xscape is the ideal place to escape. Get competitive with glow in the dark adventure golf, or head to Tenpin for a game of bowling, take to the slopes at Snozone, or see if you can defeat the lasers to steal a diamond at The Raid – a laser maze challenge. There’s also a cinema and plenty of places to eat and drink.

I stayed here for 2 nights in one of the disabled access rooms. I was staying alone as a wheelchair user, so a little worried about coping with things.
I had no problems whatsoever. The staff were extremely helpful and made my stay a pleasant and comfortable experience. I would certainly stay here again.
No kidding, but within 30 minutes of our arrival we had booked a further visit for later in the year. The surrounding area is very pleasant, the location appears quiet and is convenient for many local sites and attractions. The room, including bed was very comfortable, the staff most helpful.
Breakfast is included in your price here and much to choose from including bacon, sausage, egg, porridge, cereal, muesli, fruit, yogurt etc etc. I find this, for what we paid, hard to beat. We have family nearby so this is a good location and what we paid for what we received excellent value.
On arrival we were greeted by a lovely lady at reception who sorted everything out. Once we were checked in and got to our rooms, the room was all set out and was very clean. Beds very comfy and price was right, would definitely recommend.
I have had the pleasure of staying here three times now and it never fails to impress! The hotel itself is well kept, very clean and tidy. The staff are amazing and just can’t do enough to make you feel welcome.
Breakfast is always hot and fresh, be it yogurt and fruit or full English you will enjoy! Beds are really comfy and the room its-self is great with good blackout curtains.
I get to stay in a lot of different Holiday Inn's up and down the country, and this surely is one of the best. Great location, spotlessly clean and wonderful staff that couldn't do enough for you. Comfortable refurbished rooms and a great breakfast. What more could you ask for!
A friendly place to stay with nice rooms, good breakfast and most importantly great staff. Handy for Leeds and York with easy parking and a carvery nearby. What more could you want. Once again I want to stress the really good staff.
A varied group of 5 but the hotel met our requirements well. The bedrooms were clean and comfortable, great having free WiFi, and breakfast included. The staff were very helpful and we found it an ideal location for touring around Yorkshire.
Recently stayed at the Holiday Inn East Leeds. Lovely friendly staff and a nice warm welcome. Beautiful clean and cosy rooms. Not one fault with this hotel, free breakfast and a Toby carvery joined on to the hotel, perfect. Paid £55 per night. Well worth it. Will definitely recommend and will stay again.
Nice and spacious rooms, bathroom very clean, everything in working order and free breakfast!
Location about 25 mins from Leeds city centre, however worked well for us as just off the motorway so able to get to other locations quickly. Staff very friendly, would definitely come again.
Spent a couple of nights here. We stayed in an accessible ground floor room which was great. Very spacious. The bed was very comfortable and we slept really well.
Continental breakfast is included in the price which was very reasonable. Staff were lovely - sorting out our key card when it stopped working and finding me a nail file when I asked for one.
We went for a meal in Leeds one night and to a reception at Oulton Hall on the other. Staff arranged taxis both times without fuss. A small but perfectly functioning bar was welcome too!
